This journal was inspired by a recent trip to Ireland - the 'Emerald Isle' - and by the ancient Celtic Christian sites I visited.

The cover of the journal is made of heavyweight vintage buffalo hide that has been stained 'Emerald Green' with a natural dye. The front of the cover is hand-embossed with a traditional CELTIC CROSS design. The Celtic knot-work is highlighted in gold.

The journal contains pages of unlined cartridge art paper. Like all my books this journal is entirely handmade.

Size: Cover 8x6 inches or 20x15cm (a little smaller than A5)

Contains 100 leaves/200 usable sides of acid-free 150gsm cartridge art paper

Weight: 500 grams (approximately 1 1/4lb)

Quality: - Paper is genuine cartridge paper. It is suitable for drawing and sketching, and for writing with pencil, Biro, and gel, and with water-based inks or water colour. It is also suited for a fountain pen. Binding: is genuine water-buffalo hide, stained with a natural dye. The leather is of a heavy quality, and is thick but supple. The cover is lined with cloth and machine-stitched for additional strength.

I love working with leather, but for ethical reasons I only use vintage leather for my books- ie leather from working animals that have come to the end of their lives.
