To some, gates are a way to keep people out—but they can also be a beautiful

invitation to enter. The intricate scrollwork of a filigree garden gate sets

an elegant tone and catches the eye, beckoning you to look at what secret lies

beyond it: a stunning display of nature's brightest colors, in all shapes

and sizes!

A garden in full bloom is a world within a world; it's where nature and art are

intertwined. In this carefully cultivated midst, the deliberate arrangement

of trees, shrubs, plants and pathways have an enchanting effect on the senses.

There's a prevailing sense of peace and calm as you move further into this

magical setting, where the scents and sights mingle to invite reflection and

relaxation at every turn.

A true must-have for gardeners, nature lovers, and creative spirits!

Special features:

MINT FIRST: A FILIGREE GATE! Fashioned from white bronze, the

gate on the coin is painted to give it an aged appearance, like

the weathered but timeless look of a real wrought-iron gate.

PUSHING THE LIMITS OF INTRICATE METALWORKING! Extensive

research and development helped determine the right amount

of metal required to create a resilient filigree design—one that won't

obscure the view of the garden behind it!

A WORLD OF BEAUTY! The elegance of the gate paired with the

spellbinding garden behind it make this a timeless piece, and a

prized addition to your collection.

99.99% PURE SILVER COIN!

LOW MINTAGE: Only 5,500 coins will be made worldwide.

Design:

Inspired by gardens across Canada, the coin design pays tribute to nature's

beauty and the artistic endeavors of Canadian gardeners. At first glance,

there's a prevailing sense of enchantment and mystery thanks to the filigree

gate that stretches across the reverse.

Fashioned from white bronze and inspired by an 18th century design, the

filigree garden gate by Canadian artist Margaret Best has an intricate,

almost delicate appearance that belies its resilience.

The coin's large diameter (50 mm) allows a breathtaking mix of

color-over-engraved details behind the gate, as the eyes wander down

the stone pathway leading to the cottage.

Designed by Canadian artist Tony Bianco, this magical summer garden

brings together some perennial garden favorites in Canada: a climbing

rose, hydrangea, phlox, bee balm, salvia and rudbeckia.

All are depicted in full bloom, which heightens the larger-than-life quality

of this picture-perfect setting. The obverse features the effigy of Her

Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Did you know…

Canada's northern climate and varied geography can help or

hinder any gardening efforts! Precipitation, wind, temperature,

soil conditions and the number of frost-free days are some of the

key factors to consider when planning or maintaining a Canadian

garden.

Knowing their plant hardiness zone can help gardeners select the

right plants, shrubs and trees for their space. Canada is divided into

19 zones—0a being the harshest (the Arctic) and 9a being the

mildest (parts of Lower Mainland BC).

With climate change, many gardeners are revisiting their

assumptions about local conditions and finding that they are now

in a warmer plant hardiness zone!

A cheery addition to our garden on the reverse, rudbeckia is more

commonly known as black-eyed Susan. Native to North America,

this yellow perennial is remarkably resilient and will happily bloom

in sunny locations!

Hydrangeas can come in a range of soft colors, but some varieties

(e.g. Hydrangea macrophylla) may have different colored blooms

depending on the soil's pH level: blue if the soil is more acidic,

pink for alkaline.
