BNSF Burlington Northern Santa Fe 9647 SD70MAC Merger Scheme Cab Headlight Kato HO  37-6382.  This is one engine from an estate we are offering.  Although we do not see wear, as it is from an estate, we are offering it as used. The rails and details are ready to be applied.   The model has an 8 pin NMRA socket so it is DCC ready.  The model comes with factory installed Kato knuckle couplers.  Starting during 1993, General Motors Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) division delivered 1,109 of these Comfort Cab Wide Nosed AAR C-C 4000 HP diesels.  The locomotives of the class featured an EMD 16-710-G3 2-stroke diesel prime mover. The SD70M  models were delivered with the self-steering HTCR radial truck. The SD 70MAC features AC traction motors.  The radial truck allows the axles to steer in curves which reduces wear on the wheels and railhead. With the introduction of the SD70ACe and SD70M-2 models, EMD introduced a new bolsterless non-radial HTSC truck as the standard truck for these models in an effort to reduce costs. The HTCR-4 radial truck is still an option.  The GM CA7A Alternator provided electrical energy to the six GM D90TR DC traction motors.  The engine is designed for top speeds of 70 MPH. Production of the SD70M and SD70MAC ceased in late 2004 as production of the SD70M-2 model began (the EPA's Tier 2 regulations went into effect on 1 January 2005). The model comes with its original box, insert and foam.  Please allow $13.75 for insured domestic US shipping. Foreign bidders please email for a shipping quote.
