Out-of-print, hard-to-find 8 1/2" x 11" paper catalog, 12 pages from the Mundet Cork Corporation, North Bergen NJ.   Catalog is copyright dated 1951.

Asbestos Reference:

In the "Process of Manufacture" section it describes how Mundet manufactured it's 85% magnesia heat insulation. "Magnesium carbonate (magnesia) and asbestos fibers, from which most of the water has been removed in filtering..."

Photo closeup of magnesia block shows long asbestos fibers which impart greater ductile strength.

There's a photo showing the new magnesia plant in North Bergen NJ where Mundet made it's 85% magnesia. Photos also show workers handling molded pieces and cutting a pipe covering to demonstrate how clean and quickly cuts can be made.

Other Mundet products included 85% Magnesia (asbestos) Cement.

Book Condition:
The catalog is in VERY GOOD condition!!  The pages have some browning due to age.   It's still a usable booklet with plenty of life left in it!!
