HEDO vtg wooden figure 1950s Germany decorative bowler w/ beer stein Erzgebirge

This is a previously-owned, wooden, bowling figure manufactured by Hedo in the 1950s. The bowler has become unfixed from his base, which is cracked, and his beer-drinking arm has become unattached. Obviously, the figure needs some general repair and some tender loving care. What you see is what you get… Hedo was a German toy company founded in 1946 and named after owner Herbert Dohnalek, the mayor of a small mountain village in East Germany. He moved to Westerburg in West Germany in 1949, renamed the company “Hedo," and exported their high quality wooden toys to 19 countries. The company closed its doors in 1980 when Herbert Dohnalek passed away.
