POLAROID Spectra Camera w/ instruction manual 1986 no film included

This is a previously-owned, gray ‘Spectra Camera’ manufactured by Polaroid in 1986. It is in excellent shape (hardly used) and perfect working order (only one owner).

When Polaroid introduced the Spectra in 1986, it marked a completely new camera line, with a corresponding new line of film. The Spectra film (called 'Image' outside North America) differs from 600 integral films in that it has a different image format: the 600 film is a square, while the Spectra film is a rectangular 9.2 x 7.3 cm dimension (so you can shoot wide). The Spectra film is otherwise the same as 600 films -- the ISO speed, the development method and the process remain the same. The Spectra camera series also has lenses on average better than the 600-film range; therefore, Spectra cameras are thought to take better pictures than a conventional 600 Polaroid camera.

Please note: the Polaroid Spectra System uses a type of Polaroid film that's slightly wider than the classic 600/SX-70 square frame. This film is interchangeably called Spectra, Type 1200, and Image. There is no film included here.
