Hello,

This nice old piece was made by Ichiyo, a famous deceased Japanese maker. I’ve had a lot of Ichiyo pots and I truly love his works; especially because his prominent use of cream glazed which Many now have Patina’d up nicely over the decades.

This one is really unique because there were some cool kiln anomalies that happened during firing: first; another piece of clay landed in the bottom of the pot. At times things can explode while being fired. So something exploded and landed inside and this other chunk of ceramic vessel landed inside and was fired and now part of the pot. Also; some glaze dropped off from a pot above it during firing and this glaze dripped down the side of the pot.

Really cool for you pot nerds (like me) out there that appreciate stuff like this.
