Origin: "Liber Chronicarum"(The Book of Chronicles)
first edition published in Nurenberg,
edited in Latin by Hartmann Schedel in 1493.
Description: Highly decorative wood block
engraved plate including, recto/verso, six
profiles of the Zerubbabel Second Temple
at Jerusalem.
Mapmaker: Hartmann Schedel (1440-1514)
German physician, humanist, historian and
one of the first cartographers to use the
printing press.
Woodblock cutter: Michael Wolgemut, the
well-known teacher of Albrecht Durer.
Dimension: Large Paper approx: 31.8 X 45.4 cm.

Woodblock cutter: Michael Wolgemut, the
well-known teacher of Albrecht Durer. It is
highly likely that their apprentice, Albrecht Durer
(1471-1528) collaborated on some of the illustrations.

Solis (1514 – 1562), a member of a prolific
family of artists,

(Hebrew: מִדּוֹת, lit. "Measurements")
is the tenth Tractate of Seder
Kodashim
("Order of Holies") of the
Mishnah
and of the Talmud.
This Tractate describes the
dimensions
and the arrangement of the Temple
Mount.
in Jerusalem, and the Second
Temple
buildings and courtyards,
various gates,
the altar of sacrifice and
its surroundings,
and the places where the Priests
and Levites
kept watch in the Temple.
Maimonides,
in his introduction to this tractate,
notes that the purpose of this
tractate was to
elucidate details for the rebuilding
of the temple,
even though according to Jewish
tradition,
the design of the Third
Temple would be based
on the vision of the prophet Ezekiel
(Ezek. 40-43)
and differ in some regards from that
of the Second Temple.

30 large pages bound by original red hard cover.
Published by the Author. Printed on thick paper
by Itach the printer, Mahane Yehuda, Jerusalem.
In the author's introduction: "... I also had the
privilege of locating various names and parts in
the map of the temple, whose place is not known
in the temple drawings that have been printed
so far, as the spring will show".
