This item was failing to work when new batteries were added to it...This would be ideal for those seeking parts or someone that can repair cameras...
Canon’s 312XL-S was not only
well received (and well reviewed) but played a significant role in advancing
the Super-8 craze of the 70’s. However, it and others in the class had no
choice but to sit idly in the coming years with the advent of video.
Today however, as you
likely know if you are looking at this auction, Super-8s are advancing the
craze of vintage cameras as investment opportunities (while now often used as
desk or shelf candy), and a 312XL-S in excellent condition such as this one is
only going up in value.
As per Canon’s website: The
312XL-S was a sister model of the 514XL-S. It had an external metering system,
replacing TTL metering, and some functions were dropped from those of the
514XL-S to lower the costs. A newly designed high-speed 3x f/1.2 zoom lens with
macro function was applied. This lens had a built-in foldable rubber lens hood.
