Diese Sonderausgabe wurde von der Perth Mint anlässlich der Melbourne Money Expo ANDA geprägt und ist dem Australischen Emu gewidmet. Das Motiv präsentiert eine farbige Darstellung eines ausgewachsenen Emus mit einem Jungtier in einer typisch australischen Landschaft. Zusätzlich sind der Prägebuchstabe "P" der Perth Mint, der Ausgabeanlass "AUSTRALIAN EMU", das Ausgabejahr "2021" sowie Gewicht und Feinheit der Münze im Design enthalten. Auf der Rückseite sind das Porträt von Königin Elizabeth II und der Nennwert abgebildet. Der Emu gehört ebenso wie Strauß und Kiwi zu den sogenannten Laufvögeln. Weil sie sehr groß und schwer sind, können sie nicht fliegen, dafür aber ausdauernd und schnell laufen. Emus sind in ganz Australien beheimatet. Die anpassungsfähigen Tiere werden bis zu 20 Jahre alt und ernähren sich hauptsächlich von Gras, Blumen, Samen, Früchten und Insekten. An der Höhe gemessen, gilt der Australische Emu nach dem Strauß als der zweitgrößte Vogel der Welt. Die Auflage dieser Ausgabe ist weltweit auf nur 2.000 Exemplare limitiert. This special edition was struck by the Perth Mint to celebrate the Melbourne Money Expo ANDA and is dedicated to the Australian Emu. The motive shows a colored depiction of a mother and baby emu in a typical Australian landscape. In addition, the mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint, the occasion of issue "AUSTRALIAN EMU", the year-date "2021" as well as the weight and fineness are included in the design. Like ostrich and kiwi, the emu belongs to the so-called ratite family. Because they are very large and heavy, they are unable to fly, but can run enduringly and fast.
