Surigao did not issue any notes during the war, but most of the municipalities within the province used counterstamped notes from Cebu.

Due to the scarcity of currency some municipalities have to get their notes from nearby cities who can supply them with the needed money. The municipal treasurer counterstamped and sign the notes to indicate that it was used in that area.
