Kohler cylinder head and NOS OEM Kohler cylinder head gasket. No longer available new, this head has been bead blasted and mating surface machined perfectly flat. Spark plug threads are perfect as are both engine tin mounting threads. No broken or damaged cooling fins either. Fits Kohler K341 16HP engines. Comes with a small package of anti-seize to apply on spark plug threads so that future replacement of spark plug doesn't cause damage to threads, and two new grade 8 mounting bolts for the engine tins.  Everything you need to get back to work quick.

NOTE: Hairline cracks are a common occurrence and can't be seen under a layer of carbon. Look closely at any used cylinder head for tiny cracks near the spark plug threads and between the valves. These are common issues which is why we bead blast ours and then have them inspected and machined by trained machinists who also torque test all threads. We only use OEM Kohler cylinder head gaskets as aftermarket gaskets are about half as thick and have no insulating material like genuine Kohler gaskets do.

Purchasing a used cylinder head which hasn't been cleaned and properly inspected is a risky venture. Many sellers are little more than junk dealers and will list heads without regard to its condition. They remove it, take a picture, and list it here on eBay. Most don't know the true condition of the head they're selling because it hasn't been properly cleaned and inspected. Some even try and trick buyers by posting a couple of out-of-focus photos and providing little to no details, and they don't accept returns. And since it arrives just as dirty as when they sold it, if you clean it and discover hidden defects, you usually cannot return it regardless. Some 90% of the heads we remove from good running engines are warped to some degree and are not suitable for use unless they are machined. Doing the job right the first time will increase your tractor's productivity and ensure your engine operates up to its full potential. The bargain you think you made today might be a costly mistake that costs you lost time and productivity as well as more money in the future. Don't take that chance! Buy from one of eBay's most reputable sellers who has proven integrity and honesty. Don't become a victim of a junk dealer!

Did you know that carbon buildup on heads acts similar to a sponge and absorbs raw fuel which contributes to poor cold starting conditions and rough operation when engine is running? Any major tune-up should include the removal and decarbonizing of the head. Removing any paint and grease from exterior of head promotes more efficient cooling by allowing heat to travel to cooling fins where it can dissipate into the air. We don't paint our heads as doing so prevents equal heat dissipation through the cooling fins. Always insure the engine tins are installed. They force air to flow through the cooling fins on the cylinder and the head. Otherwise air will take the path of least resistance and flow around the engine. Lastly, check the screen on the flywheel and make sure it's clear of grass clippings and debris. Cool air is pulled in through the screen but if it's plugged the engine will not be cooled.
