  Laserdisc GRADING NOTES

Laserdisc pictured is actual tape.  Laserdiscs are graded based on appearance only, we have no we to play them.   We try to list every flaw that we can see and err on the side of downgrading.   Please contact us for a refund if a laserdisc plays worse than described.  We may request that the lasersdisc is returned.

Mint (M)

Absolutely perfect in every way - certainly never played, possibly even still sealed.  Virtually no tape will ever attain this grade.

Near Mint (NM)

A nearly perfect disc.  The disc shows no obvious sign of wear. The cover has no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling.

Near Mint Minus

A very clean, lightly used disc.  The cover has no more than the most minor defects, such as almost rubwear or other signs of slight handling.

Excellent (EX) same as Very Good (VG++)

An EX or VG++ disc is very close to NM-, except for a minor flaw or two.   Shows some minor signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.   An EX or VG++ cover will show some minor corner-wear perhaps some light rub-wear.   Typically, an EX or VG++ box will appear NM with just a minor flaw or two.

Very Good (VG+)

A few more marks, but still certainly playable.  Disc could show a few scuffs and scratches, but no marks that can be felt.   A VG+ cover will have some slight wear or a slight corner-split.

Very Good  (VG)

Defects found in a VG+ disc are more pronounced in a VG tape. Flaws will be noticable and possibly feelable.  The same will be true of the cover -- splits, writing, stickers, etc will be present.

Good (G), Good+

Disc will show obvious signs of wear.  Cover may have tape, writing, numerous corner-splits, etc.

Poor (G), Fair (F)

Serious wear of the disc.  The cover is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and/or writing.
