Mit "Die Gefährten" feierte der erste Teil der erfolgreichen Filmreihe im Dezember 2001 Weltpremiere. Anlässlich des 20. Jubiläums von Der Herr der Ringe™ hat die New Zealand Post diese Premium Silber-Anlagemünze ausgegeben. Das Motiv zeigt die berühmte Szene aus dem Film, in welcher der Hobbit Frodo™ seine Hand nach dem Einen Ring ausstreckt, sodass dieser schließlich direkt auf seinem Zeigefinger landet. In seinem Ärmel wurde der Satz "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future." (dt.: Selbst die kleinste Person kann den Lauf der Zukunft verändern) eingraviert. Zusätzlich sind die Aufschriften "THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING", "20th ANNIVERSARY" und der Nennwert "ONE DOLLAR" im Design enthalten. Die Rückseite zeigt das Porträt von Königin Elizabeth II sowie Gewicht, Feinheit, Ausgabejahr und die Aufschrift "MIDDLE EARTH". Frodo™ war der Neffe von Bilbo Beutlin™ und wurde von Gandalf™ auserwählt, das Auenland zu verlassen, um den Einen Ring im Feuer des Schicksalsberges zu zerstören. Mithilfe seines starken Willens, seiner Tapferkeit und nicht zuletzt durch den Beistand seiner Gefährten, kann Frodo™ die beschwerliche Reise nach Mordor meistern, den Ring zerstören und den durch Sauron™ verbreiteten Schrecken beenden. Die Frodo™ Premium Silber-Anlagemünze zum 20. Jubiläum von "Die Gefährten" ist weltweit auf lediglich 10.000 Exemplare limitiert. Die Lieferung erfolgt in einer schützenden Münzkapsel.
