Obsidian is a natural glass of volcanic origin that is formed when lava is rapidly cooled. It has a glassy sheen and is typically jet black.  The presence of iron oxide produces red and brown varieties, and tiny gas bubbles may create a golden sheen.

Use: This semi-precious stone is a beautiful addition to jewelry creations.
