The long-awaited successor to the bible of pinball machine repair and care is finally here. B.B. Kamoroff’s new book, Your Pinball Machine: How to Purchase, Adjust, Maintain, and Repair Your own Machine promises to be the one manual anyone who has, or wants to have, a pinball machine should have on their shelves.

Kamaroff’s original book, Pinball Machine Care and Maintenance evolved through numerous editions with more knowledge imparted in each edition. It was one of our all-time best-selling books. Crunruh shipped numerous copies daily. We were saddened when we went to restock and were advised that the books had all been sold and that they author did not intend to publish another edition.

Better things were in mind, and here they are. In conjunction with Schiffer Publishing, Kamaroff’s ultimate book has been released. You Pinball Machineprovides an interesting though brief history of pinball. It presents the various types of machines that were manufactured throughout the years and information about the manufacturers. The book gives lengthy advice on choosing a machine, examining one, negotiating the price, disassembling and transporting it, and setting up the machine. It provides general information on machine components and features.

It then gets into the heart of book – repairs. Repair basics such as replacing a power cord and advise on repairs in general is cover in Chapter 8. Chapter 9 covers flipper repair and is divided into two sections: dead flippers and weak flippers.

Chapter 10 covers repairs common to all machines, e.g. blown fuses, chimes and bells kickout holes, the ball shooter. The next two chapters cover repairs specific to electro-mechanical machines and electronic machines, respectively. There is a chapter dedicated to tracing circuits and general maintenance. There are even chapters on getting professional repairs and becoming a professional repairer yourself.

Pinball machines are a lot of fun and this the book to have if you want to have more fun. We expect this to be a big seller for Crunruh books.
