Simply beautiful - the photos by Francis Wolff (actually Frank Wolff) adorn some of the most important Blue Note records of the 50s and 60s (Art Blakey, Horace Silver) and are very experimental in terms of composition / image detail, but never overstylized. The atmosphere during the recordings appears tangible, aesthetically pleasing, mostly in black and white, of course. Finally there are these pictures in a massive picture book, which also contains a lot of good information about artists, labels and so on
