HIEROGLYPH SOUVENIR

An interesting carved piece probably manufactured as a 'Grand Tour' style souvenir.

Carved from a piece of dense rock in a bone shape with roughly broken ends.

The stone has been patinated with an antique bone colour finish (although not on the fractured ends) and carved with hieroglyphs.

Date: unknown but probably 20th Century, possibly mid 20th.

Condition. The piece is presumably as originally created, the rough ends never having been given the bone effect finish. The piece is not vertically freestanding due the angle of the base, but it will happily stand upside down!
