PEANUTS beat-up tee VANS skateboarding Snoopy small T shirt punk Off the Wall
This is a previously-owned, adult-small (S), white T-shirt with “Since 1966 / Vans Off the Wall” printed on the front with “Vans” printed on the back below an image of Snoopy. It measures approximately 17 inches (from underarm seam to underarm seam), about 25½ inches from back collar to bottom, and is in fair condition, as there are small holes in the shoulder areas – see picture (Vans brand, care-tag is missing).
The Van Doren Rubber Company, better known as “Vans,” has been, since 1966, a Southern California based manufacturer of sneakers, skate shoes and other shoe types catering primarily to the counter-culture market. They market heavily in the surfing and skateboarding areas and now produce additional items such as clothing and skateboarding accessories. The company found iconic success in their checkerboard pattern sneaker, worn by Sean Penn in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Recently, Vans has opened retail stores containing large indoor skate parks and sponsored the Vans Warped Tour, a punk/ska music and extreme sports festival that has existed since 1995.
The long-running comic strip “Peanuts” was written and drawn by Charles M. Schulz. The Peanuts gang (featuring Charlie Brown and his pet beagle Snoopy) has been featured in numerous TV specials from 1965 to 2006…
