We offer for your consideration this vintage signed Puukko Kauhava knife made in Finland.

This knife came to us through an estate sale. The former owner was and avid sportsman, with a large collection of guns, swords, & knives (military and civilian)
The blade is clearly marked "IISAKKI JÄRVENPÄÄ OY KAUHAVA FINLAND
On the obverse side of the blade there is a name acid etched into the blade "Joe Dumars" ?

This knife is approximately 7 5/8ths inches in total length. The handle is approximately 3 3/4 inches long.
The handle of this knife could be made of Birchwood or Birch bark. The handle is decorated with the classic brass horse head that is associated with this maker.
The blade is approximately 3 7/8ths, it has a flat rounded spine and a 2 3/8 inch fuller on both sides.
The ricasso is unmarked on both sides. But the labeled side shows some tool marks.
The blade edge is plain and keen.
The blade point is in excellent condition.
The linear discoloration on the brass blade hilt trim is most like from small cracks in the coating, the handles on these knives were typically lacquered.

The sheath is of tooled leather with a brass accent collar and tip. It also has a small chain with clip.
The clip looks a bit too small to use on a belt, but it might work on a belt loop.

If you are a collector this Puukko knife will make a nice addition to any collection.
