This cameo has a beautiful depiction of a Athena, the warrior Goddess, in a feathered helmet with dove, and a shouldered shield. The dove is set at the corner of the helmets visor.

The cameo is set in a beautifully intricately patterned oval bezel frame. 

This frame has both a bail for a chain, and a swivel pin with a C clasp, so it came be worn as either a pendant or a brooch. 

This is an estate find, and it came to us with this curious ball chain. The chain is a small curb link chain onto which there are strung small brass hollow round beads approximately 3.5 mm in diameter. 

This chain is much too small, at 14 inches, to be a choker, unless for a small child.

The cameo seems much too large for this length of chain. But we decided to keep the two pieces together.

The carved cameo is approximately 40 by 49 mm. 

The base of the frame is approximately 51.5 mm by 61.8 mm
