The Farmyard Illustrated by Cicely Englefield. This hardback book has 16 card pages and measures approx 8" x 11". It is the undated First Edition published by Raphael Tuck with code 4501 to rear. Perhaps from around 1935

Throughout the book is printed the music for the childrens song The Farmyard which, we are told, was collected and arranged by the folk music expert Cecil Sharp

There are 8 cut-out farm scenes attractively drawn by by Cicely Englefield which can be viewed from both sides as the pages of the book are turned.

Book in good condition with a little rust to the staples. The covers have some discolouration and scuffing and there is spotting to inside rear cover. No inscription. Internally we have:
Some marks/old tape to inside front cover
Scuffing to horse and horse's ears no longer attached to the frame on page 1/2
A little damage to right-hand cow's horn, crease to left hand cow whose tongue is no longer attached to the frame on page 3/4
Crease to sheep dog on page 5/6
Crease to cockerel on page 7/8
Tear/crease to head of two sheep on page 11/12
Crease to lower part of page 15/16

All in all a remarkable survivor in very collectable condition
