Antique / vintage button display / competition / collector tray card:

~ This double or overlapping circle design display card features an array of all opaque black glass buttons

~ There are several that look to have quite a bit of age to them - including victorian mourning, hand carved or etched, pressed glass, faceted glass, flower shaped styles and more

~ Contains an ornate and very rare 1800's Victorian swastika button - the symbol at that time stood only for good things like peace, prosperity and good luck

~ 34 buttons on the card 

~ The center button has been long gone.  I would have loved to see what that may have looked like.  Easy fix if you would want to replace it with a button of your liking.  I thought about it - but being such a purist I didn't have the heart and wanted to leave this in as original condition as possible.  

~ Ready and waiting for your display, craft or sewing project, collection, and/or gift giving

ESTIMATED AGE OR ERA = True antique / vintage buttons - this style of button experienced a long span of popularity - from use in Victorian mourning garb circa mid to late 1800's through the 1930's 1940's - including the Art Deco era and every style in-between.  So, it makes it difficult to date these for certain.  I am guessing it contains a range or mix - some are certainly old Victorian buttons

MEASUREMENTS =  Vary - smallest buttons are about 1/2" to 5/8" in diameter to the larger few at 1 1/4" diameter.  The card is aprox 8 7/8" x 11 7/8"

CONDITION = Good overall vintage condition - given the age.  The card show it's age - there are some marks, mars, discoloration, handwriting, numbers, corner bumps, prior folding in half, ink and pencil marks on the reverse, replacement pipe cleaner, etc.  Buttons are in very nice antique shape - there are a few very very minor flea bites, scuffs, scrapes here and there - see pics.  The swastika button has "as-is" penciled in - I took it off the card and inspected it with a 10x magnification loupe - the only issue I found was one of the conical points around the edge has a small chip or shard off.  I had to inspect if three times to find that.  There are many superb buttons on this card - collection and/or display worthy!  

Please view & enlarge all photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina, and/or wear.  Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged.  I will do my best to note anything glaring or distracting.  Utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all.  Pictures normally speak louder than words and individuals also interpret characteristics differently.
