First and only edition of the book. There are no reissues. The author is a representative of the Russian government and the Mining Association founded by engineers A. Goryainov and F. Enakiev, state controller Naus, an active participant in the conclusion of the Russian-Persian agreement on the development and exploitation of ore resources in the region bordering the Russian Transcaucasus of the Azerbaijan province. Description of a journey along a little-known in Russia mountain route from Tehran to Meshediser and further by sea to the Gaz trading post. Valuable materials, impressions of an eyewitness and a participant in the events described. For a historian: materials on the eternally exciting issue of Russia's relations with the East. For the rest, it's just an interesting book. Written in a lively and simple way. Персия и персы. Эскизы и очерки С. Ломницкого (Рэджэп), 1898-1899-1900 года.

В 1897 г. горный инженер Н. Н. Курмаков и автор данного сочинения С. Ломницкий по инициативе Горнопромышленного товарищества совершили поездку в Персию для переговоров с персидским правительством относительно эксплуатации рудных богатств пограничной российскому Закавказью Азербайджанской провинции. Путь путешественников пролегал из Тегерана в Мешедисер и далее морем в факторию Гязь.
Труд «Персия и персы» содержит путевые очерки С. Ломницкого, в которых рассказывается о государственном строе, торговле, путях сообщения, культуре и религии Персии, домашнем быте и национальных чертах местных жителей. Книга увидела свет в 1902 г. и никогда не переиздавалась.

Первое и единственное издание книги. Переизданий нет. Автор - представитель русского правительства и Горнопромышленного товарищества, основанного инженерами А.Горяиновым и Ф.Енакиевым, государственный контролер Наус, активный участник заключения русско-персидского договора о разработке и эксплуатации рудных богатств в области, пограничной русскому Закавказью Азербайджанской провинции. Описание путешествия по малоизвестному в России горному пути из Тегерана в Мешедисер и далее морем в факторию Газ. Ценные материалы, впечатления очевидца и участника описываемых событий. Для историка: материалы по извечно волнующему вопросу отношений России с Востоком.. Для остальных - просто интересная книга. Написана живо и просто.
