--- Reel measures 3-5/8" in diameter, I thought that was 100 ft but I'm not sure. B/W 16mm Silent.  NOTE at the beginning of this reel there is a section of overexposed washed out frames, but then it starts over at the title screen again and proceeds normally, also noted the 2nd shot looks somewhat dark or underexposed.  The photos of the frames shown below are from this particular reel I took photos starting at the front of the reel until the end (over a light table with the reel and take up on winders, I don't have a viewer).  The order of the photos below are a little mixed up because of my photo host service (in groups of 10 the order is off so you may see something that looks like it happened before or after the next photo). The actual footage is B/W, my photos sometimes look a little tinted. Reel consists of what looks like 3 continuous shots of the same race with the camera in 3 different positions (NOTE I don't know if each shot is a whole race, it doesn't seem like it as they don't go around the entire track in each shot). A Seattle company Criterion Films had the contract to shoot the Longacres horse races and they have their name on the title card at the head of the reel (I've read that Longacres started filming races in the early 1950's which was called "Film Patrol" and was used to check for fouls/winners or however it is termed).  I don't have a proper viewer to watch the footage so I used two reel winders and wound it over a light table and took occasional shots of the frames (my technique isn't that good, sometimes the film is not flat on the box so is not in clear focus, I tried to keep from touching the film, it had what looked like the original masking tape end so was likely never viewed or at least not for decades. No vinegar syndrome or other issues like curling, film looks as new. Reel is in a Forde labs box and the splices are printed and not physical (I don't know if the original footage was shot on negative film but the film from the 3 cameras would have been spliced I assume after developing and this would have been a print made from that spliced reel).  I took photos where the camera was changed or switched (you can see the printed splice).  I'm not 100% sure but it looks like the first shot is on the far side of the start gate, the shot pans to the left with the horses very small in the distance then round the corner and come across the front of the camera.  The 2nd view appears to be straight on and it looks like the camera is at the first turn, the horses come straight on from the gate and go around that first turn away from the camera.  And the 3rd view, I didn't really figure out that view but I assume it is maybe at the 2nd curve, one thing I noticed is the 3rd shots seemed shorter covering a shorter distance than the 1st two.  Some of the reels may have had some exposure or camera issue which I tried to capture and will describe when appropriate.  Since I didn't have a viewer it's hard to get a feel for the flow, at times I was sure the camera man was using a telephoto prime but at other times it looks like a zoom may have been used, I just can't tell for sure.  I realize individual horse race film is not highly sought after especially random races on a random day, however I couldn't find any examples of Longacres race film from the 1960's.
