This is an authentic 1991 reproduction--NOT a recent reproduction

This is an original 1991 print of a World War II-era poster depicting a beach landing of armored tanks and infantry by uniformed soldiers carrying rifles, some with fixed bayonets. The text reads, “READY FOR ANYTHING--thanks to you!”

The original poster was designed in 1943 by artist Amos Sewell, whose signature appears in the lower-right portion of the image. In addition to war propaganda material, Sewell was a prolific artist of pulp magazines, and also contributed to the Saturday Evening Post for over 20 years. This illustration was published in a well-printed 1991 collection of popular WWII posters, collated and presented by Derek Nelson, acting as civilian editor for Naval Safety Center publications.

In Nelson's words
"Although thousands of miles lay between domestic time clocks and combat beachheads, posters made the connection early and often. Civilian employment in industry skyrocketed. The civilian economy expanded from 48 million workers in 1940 o 54 million in 1944, in addition to the 12 million men who had joined the service."

Printed on medium-weight glossy paper, the overall sheet size is approximately 8.25" x 11", and the printed poster (shown in the scan below) is 6.25" x 89", with 1" margins all the way around to allow easy matting and framing. There is an image on the reverse of the print.

The print is a fine example of 20th century chromolithography, with distinctive saturated solids. It appears to be an offset halftone process, based on the orientation of the matrix and rosette appearance under magnification. It is a very attractive work, and well-printed.

These mini poster prints look very nice matted and framed, together or separately. Please check my store for other maps, posters, and natural history or historical art prints perfect for framing or incorporating into other projects.

Below is a cropped view of the sheet--without full margins, and without the page number (57), which is printed below the poster. The scan below is a fairly accurate representation of the print.

Condition: Excellent. As shown, with no tears or marks on the printed portion. Print will be carefully packaged  to preserve condition during shipping. Ships next business day.

This is a genuine 1991 print--NOT a recent reproduction. It is over 30 years old; please handle with care.
