Fantastic old museum quality collector's display card full of bronze glass beaded passementerie:

~ Gorgeous old beaded trim assortment - including, epaulette type, fringed and tassles

~ Metallic bronze shade of glass beads

~ Different styles and applications and several pieces match

~ Title / note on the top of the board hand written by an expert on the subject and reads - "Rare Bronze glass passementerie 1880 or earlier" and one mid way down on the right says 1900 by the beaded running chain that wraps around the card

~ The running braided chain example that wraps around the display is hand beaded entirely on wire

~ This would be beautiful mounted in fancy period frame

AGE OR ERA: Original true antique / vintage piece - 1800's to 1900 based on what the card itself says

METAL / MATERIAL: Glass beaded decorative bits on an old multilayer cardboard type paper product

CLASP / CLOSURE: Sew on to use

MEASUREMENTS: Epaulette type pair are aprox 4.25' x 1.25", fringed set between them are 4.5" long, thin wired bead trim that wraps around is 3/8" wide, bottom trim is 2.5" wide to give you some idea of size. Card overall is just slightly larger than 9 x 12"

CONDITION = Good vintage condition for the age and rarity - of course the cardboard / paper parts show their age. They look to be faded badly if you peek under the trim pieces, there is other discoloration, rips, curls, etc, As far as the beaded appliqués themseves - there is minor bead loss here and there. Several round flat beads on the border of the epaulette shaped pair have been long gone, the top loop of one of the tassels just below the midway point on the card looks to be missing, and the run of 4 lacy pieces along the bottom edge may have been connected at one point in time and are no longer, with the exception of one string between the two pieces on the far left. I believe most, if not all, of these issues were present when the board was put together. All in all - rare rare old bits lovingly collected and assembled. In an excellent state of preservation.

Please view & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned. Individuals do have varying levels of desire and tolerance for "vintage charm" so do utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all, as they are an integral part and extension of the description.
