the making of the album was a project of the Pennsylvania Dutch Folklore Center at Franklin Marshall College. 

Dr. J William Frey was a native of York County, PA and after graduating with honors from Dickinson college, he studies in Germany, France, and then earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in German from the University of Illinois. He taught for many years and Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.
