For the Baseball Hobbyist . . . ~ 1946-1952 Albertype Hall of Fame plaque postcard ~ ED DELAHANTY ~ Philadelphia Phillies & Quakers, Washington Senators (A.L.) & Cleveland Infants (Players League) ~ Type 2 ("New York" is spelled out) ~ The Albertype Post Card Co. of Brooklyn, N.Y., for the period 1944-1952, was the official producer of the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum's plaque postcards. Each card was produced in 3-1/2" by 5-1/2" size and featured the bronze plaques in black & white. Like their successor, Artvue, two styles of cards were issued. Baseball hobbyists have designated the 1944-1945 cards as Type 1. These are identified by the "N.Y." abbreviation for New York after Cooperstown on the front of each card. Type 2's, however, have the state name spelled out - as this card. This particular card is, therefore, a Type 2 Albertype Hall of Fame plaque postcard. Condition: Very Good with "4/18/50" in ink on reverse - check the high resolution scans (front and back); a burgundy background has been provided to assist in evaluating the card corners and edges.
