A spine-chilling marionette dangles by his strings from the ceiling of an eerie, dilapidated theatre stage in our ghoulish portrayal of The Hanged Man. He hangs upside down as he looks upon the world from a fresh point of view. Despite his puppet-like facade, he maneuvers his body freely, just as other demon dolls have before him; he is entirely autonomous and has positioned himself here due to his own actions. Whether intentional or not, he is content in his present stance, alluded to by his serene face. ‘Normal’ is a relative concept to The Hanged Man; he accepts reality as it has come to be, yet actively chooses to see things from a new angle. He understands that there is no “right way” to interpret this world or the situations we encounter while residing here. 

Around his head, we see a spotlight cast a sort of halo against the backdrop of the curtain and stage. This symbolizes The Hanged Man’s newfound enlightenment and cognizance resulting from this new perspective. His hands are hidden from view, though we do not know whether they are tied behind his back or whether he is simply holding them there in a pose of contemplation. However, his bent leg suggests a level of comfort in his current state. Knowledge and passion have been carved into his being, signified by his blue top and red bottoms respectively. He finds balance in surrendering to both of these human pursuits. His decrepit surroundings display that he has been in this state for quite some time. He may release himself from this position at his convenience, but for the moment, he has found solace here.
