Description

First half of the w0th century exceedingly tight and exquisitely woven basket from the Tutsi tribe.  The basket is made of woven plant fibers in shades of tan and brown in a subtle stylized geometric design.  The basket measures approximately 5 3/4" tall x 8 1/2" wide x 5" wide at the top x 7 1/2" deep at the shoulders.  This basket is among the most exquisite artworks made by the Tutsi women who lived mainly in Rwanda and Burundi.  The basket appears to be in excellent condition with no breaks.
