This is a hand carved antique African Yaka tribal people wooden statue of a standing maternal female holding an infant on her hip. This Yaka mother and child fertility figure was collected in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and was made by the Yaka people.This Yaka female statute is in great rustic condition with two tribally repaired cracks to the mothers arm holding the baby's leg and some cracks and chips in the wood. This piece does not stand on a flat surface and needs to be displayed in the corner or on carpet.This beautiful Yaka tribal statue would make a fine addition to any African art collection.This Yaka mother with child statue measures 33.50 inches tall by 9 inches wide and weighs 13 pounds and 7 ounces.
