Drifting Sun was founded in the 90ies and present their brand new 7th studio album “Forsaken Innocence” with a strong new line-up. lt received very positive critics in internet reviews which reach to “musical brilliance“, “pure neo-prog heaven”, “masterpiece“ and “giant of an album“. The band plays neo-prog with a complex, multi-faceted and dynamic sound. The music has many changes in mood, atmosphere and tempo. The broad sound palette incorporates rocky, symphonic, classical and partly also virtuosic, heavy and jazzy elements. Some tracks have epic dimensions.
Band leader and composer is Pat Sanders (keyboards, piano). Except guitarist Mathieu Spaeter (Franck Carducci Band) there are only new members in the band.
With Jargon (John Kosmidis from Verbal Delirium) the band has found a very good singer who released a highly rated album with “The Fading Thought” last year. John Jowitt (IQ, Arena, Jadis etc.) plays bass, Jimmy Pallagrosi (Karnataka, ZIO, Franck Carducci Band) is on drums. Eric Bouillette (The Room, Nine Skies) participates on violin and guitar, Ben Bell (Gandalf's Fist) on hammond organ and Gareth Cole (Fractal Mirror) on guitar.

Drifting Sun existieren seit den 90er Jahren und legen mit einer starken neuen Besetzung ihr brandneues 7. Studioalbum “Forsaken Innocence” vor. In Internet-Reviews gibt es für diese CD sehr positive Kritiken, die bis zu “musikalischer Brillianz“, “Meisterwerk“ und “Gigant von einem Album“ reichen. Die Band spielt Neo-Prog mit einem komplexen, facettenreichen und dynamischen Sound. Die Musik weist viele Wechsel in Stimmung, Atmosphäre und Tempo auf. Die breite Soundpalette umfasst rockige, symphonische, klassische und teilweise auch virtuose, heavy und jazzige Elemente. Einige Tracks haben epische Dimensionen.
Bandleader und Komponist ist Pat Sanders (Keyboards, Piano). Ausser Gitarrist Mathieu Spaeter (Franck Carducci Band) wirken in der Band nur neue Mitglieder mit.
