There you have the psychoanalytic Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Zizek in a nutshell when he analyzes our favorite movies - our collective dreams - to get us to see the social reality in its true light. The main character, narrator and philosopher Slavoj Zizek, who has also been called "the closest philosophy may superstar", analyzes the films by referencing in itself directly in the works - sometimes we see him lying in Travis Buckles (Taxi Driver) folding bed and sometimes as one of the nuns in the Sound of Music. By making use of popular culture references (film, music, history and current events) based Zizek a method for their study, which in all likelihood is the most effective and entertaining, where we find meaning in the consumer culture we previously took for granted.
