***** After selling quality photos on eBay for 20+ years, I am in the process of selling my collection to another seller over the next several months. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PAST BUSINESS!!

DESCRIPTION: This Oshkosh was one of five purchased in 1965. They were all spec’d with Detroit Diesel 8V-53N diesel engines, Fuller 4x5 transmissions, Rockwell 34,000# double reduction rear ends with a dead-axle on the lead trigger-axle, 18,000# powered front axles, 20’ Ravens aluminum 25-cy dump bodies with full cab shields, Goodyear “Super Single” tires all the way around, and 18” high tensile steel single frame rails. These trucks were capable of scaling a 16 ton legal payload in Ohio.  These trucks performed to their expectations, although we often carried 25 ton loads hidden from view in the big boxes. These trucks had great traction, and could go about anywhere, loaded or empty! (I believe the above specs to be correct, but I am going totally by memory, and that was almost 55 years ago!)

I ran Bellevue Trucking Corporation, Holland, Ohio, in the Toledo area, for 7 years in the 1960s.  In 1963 we bought our first of 10 OSHKOSH tandem and triable dump trucks, for our construction hauling business. We took hauling contracts for many large road contractors in Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, including our parent company, The Peirce Construction Company, operating around 250+ dump trucks at our peak. Unfortunately we closed our doors in 1979 when the federal MBE/WBE requirement suddenly took away 80% of our business.
