Here we have a highly unusual group of two black-and-white artist-drawn postcards picturing shipboard games plus the elusive rules for playing the games. They were published by the Orient Royal Mail Line and clearly show the games, which must have created quite a bit of amusement and even hilarity. The games are cock fighting (not involving real cocks of course) and the cigarette and necktie race. The divided back cards (but with space for a message on the front) have minor edge and corner wear and slight discoloration on the back. The rules sheetlets are folded. One has a slight crease and signs of being taken from a booklet.

Somehow the rules that accompanied the cards have survived, and these make interesting reading. The cock fighting card has a relevant message: "This is the game that Vern likes. This is the game he hurt  his forehead on going home."

An evocative and unusual pair of ship games cards with the added attraction that the rules for the games have survived with them.

The postage on this lot is higher than I would like, which is down to Royal Mail rates and other charges beyond my control such as eBay and PayPal commissions. I use good British stamps to send all my lots and these should result in collectable stamps cancelled by hand in my village post office for the buyer.

As I have some fixed-price listings, anyone who makes a purchase might want to look there before paying. If you buy more than one item, please wait for my invoice so I can combine postage.

Note to British buyers: The postage for this lot will be $1.60.

When payment is received by teatime British time (usually about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item will not go out until the following Monday.
