Earth's home galaxy is the Milky Way, a spiral shaped system of a few hundred billion stars. Our galaxy is just one of approximately one hundred billion galaxies in the universe. This is a brief pictorial study of how our little solar system fits within the vastness of the universe. One side of this map deals specifically with our Galaxy, the Milky Way with a computer generated image which shows Earth's location as well as containing additional photographs. The reverse-side is titled “Universe” and contains a computer-generated image of the universe as well as graphic “leaps of scale” to illustrate how our solar system fits within the vastness of the universe.
