These can get damaged when changing the battery.
If the car is STOP/START fit a STOP/START battery as a normal battery cannot handle the constant engine starting.
This part may need 'coding' to the vehicle using a diagnostic tool. But a quick fix might get you going, disconnect the battery terminal from the battery now join the positive and negative leads together well away from the battery! If they will not meet use a metal screw driver or similar hold them together for 10 seconds this will reset some settings in the vehicle ECU and might get you going without visiting an Auto electrician.
