This bulbs is approximately 105mm high by 83mm wide.

This ceramic bulb does not emit any light, but is a black radiator heat lamp. 

This heat lamp is ideal for heating in various situations for example it can be used in animal husbandry especially for small mammals, in chicken coops and brooders, in vivariums, and also plant seed germination and growth of seedlings that need tropical levels of warmth, however in such cases separate grow lights, etc may also be needed. 

Ceramic infrared heating is used in a diverse range of situations where long wave infrared radiation is required. Their useful wavelength range is 2–10 µm and are often used in the area of animal/pet healthcare as well as breeding and egg incubation. The ceramic infrared heaters (emitters) can be of different shapes; these are R80 bulb shaped with Edison screw cap for normal installation via an E27 socket.

The exterior is powder coated black and fired glaze for added lustre and long life. The bulb holders/sockets used for heat lamps are usually ceramic because plastic sockets can melt or burn when exposed to the large amount of waste heat produced by the lamps, especially when operated in the "base up" position. The shroud or hood of the lamp is generally metal. There may be a wire guard over the front of the shroud, to prevent touching the hot surface of the bulb.
