The Armoured Railcar Carrier (DTR) was designed in 1934 and provided to Russian armoured train units as a reconnaissance car as well as a transport for wounded soldiers and supplies. The DTR mounted a hexagonal turret with a 7.62mm Maxim machine gun mounted in it. In addition to this, six 7.62mm DT machine guns were mounted in the hull which was between 4-8mm thick and bolted to the chassis.

Of the 10 DTR cars produced between 1935 and 1941, two were captured by the Germans and pressed into service on Wehrmacht armoured trains. One was used as an armoured railcar and this one had the body mounted on a railcar platformas part of a German armoured train.

The kit includes a section of railroad track for display purposes, decals and photo etched parts.
