Self made reproduction Red Army ration bag possibly for carrying flour or cereals, (buckwheat kasha).  This bag is believed to be carried in the mess tin or in the produce bag.   Copied from an original in my own collection.   (Kasha was also issued in a box format).  Made from natural cotton calico with a hemp drawstring, bag is approximately 17 cm x 14.5 cm.  (Also available in green, please see separate listing).

THE BAGS ARE SUPPLIED EMPTY.  THE CONTENTS AND PROPS ARE FOR ILLUSTRATION ONLY AND ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS.

A Reference montage of original bags is also shown for illustration purposes only,  This bag lives inside the mess tins.

In situations where being fed by a field kitchen was not possible, two ration types were supplied, dried rations, called "sukhpaek" and/or emergency rations "neprikosnovennyi zapas". This last type was sometimes labelled "NZ", and could only be opened on the commander's orders.    This bag is possibly for use with the dry rations.
