This is a self made reproduction WW2 Red Army plain unmarked armband, made of red linen sourced here in the UK.  Made big to fit over coats, on tunics they are folded at the back and possibly pinned, as at 44 cm diameter it is quite long!  Band is approx 13 cm x 44 cm.  Dimensions and construction are taken from original armbands in my own collection.

Possibly introduced by Chief of the General staff A. I. Egorov on 21st October 1935 as part of a range of armbands.
