The Pokemon TCG: Sword & Shield - Astral Radiance expansion contains over 180 cards. Each Pokemon TCG: Sword & Shield - Astral Radiance booster pack contains 10 cards and either 1 basic energy or 1 VSTAR marker. Each player must have a 60-card deck of Pokemon cards to play.

The Sword & Shield - Astral Radiance expansion adds more than 180 cards to the Pokemon Trading Card Game, with an emphasis on Pokemon V, Pokemon VMAX, and especially Pokemon VSTAR! Like Pokemon VMAX, Pokemon VSTAR evolve from Pokemon V, but instead of focusing on huge HP, they boast amazing attacks and Abilities called VSTAR Powers. You can use only 1 VSTAR Power during an entire game, so consider your strategy and make your moves wisely!

This expansion features 21 new Pokemon V, two new Pokemon VMAX, and eight new Pokemon VSTAR - plus many alternate-art versions and some returning favourites from previous expansions. These Pokemon can create unique challenges for your opponents, but be careful: They're all subject to the V rule, which means if your Pokemon Va or Pokemon VSTAR is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Price Cards - so that extra power does have a bit of risk to it! With a Pokemon VMAX, that risk is even greater: your opponent takes 3 Prize cards for Knocking Out just one of them.

Longtime players and collectors may recall Pokemon Star from the EX Series of the Pokemon TCG. These cards featured rare Shiny Pokemon with useful attacks and Abilities, but players were limited to just a single Pokemon Star per deck - that's one copy of one card! Debuting in the Sword & Shield - Astral Radiance expansion, Radiant Pokemon are the same way: These Shiny Pokemon with unusual coloring are so extraordinary, they're limited to just 1 per deck. But because they're all Basic Pokemon, if you can find them and get them into play, they'll instantly reward you with their powerful attacks and strategy-enhancing Abilities.
