You are bidding on a two volume set of books, which is really four volumes in two, titled A Monograph  of the Pheasants by William Beebe. Published by Dover Publications, 1990. Books come with their original dustjackets. They are wonderfully illustrated in full color.

These are very large and heavy books, measuring 12 1/2" tall and 9 1/2" wide.  They have a total of 913 pages with 178 Plates, 90 in color, 20 maps.  Wonderfully illustrated, oversize reprint of 1926 classic original, a highly detailed study.

NOTE: One of America's foremost naturalists, William Beebe 1877-1962 was curator of ornithology for the New York Zoological Society and wrote many widely read books including this great ornithological landmark.

Condition: Covers are firmly attached with no cracking or splitting of hinges. No writing in books and no signs of previous ownership. All pages present and tightly bound. The only flaw is the foredge of the pages shows foxing (refer to last picture). Aside from the foredge foxing, the books are in very good condition.

Would make a great addition to a collection.

Great gift idea!
