Did Christmas gift shopping sneak up on you last year? Oh, NO! Don’t let that happen again! This is a very good time to buy for next Christmas — or for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, Graduations, Birthdays, Quinceaneras, Weddings, Anniversaries, Why not 4th of July? Or even to celebrate Any Day with a very special and unusual gift. There’s no shame in buying this lovely set for yourself!

This Spiderweb Turquoise Southwestern-style silver bezel-set pendant and 8-link bracelet pair is spectacular! The color is a deep, lush blue.

The pendant is Navajo-style, set in a serrated edge silver bezel framed in a silver band. It features an oval stone 18 mm x 15 mm, with total face dimensions of 24 mm x 21 mm. Precise depth measurement of the stone in its setting is impossible, however it measures approximately 6 mm in the silver setting. The metal appears to be silver. The back of the setting is stamped D2. The chain in the photos is of unknown metal composition. It is pictured for illustration purposes only and is not included in this listing.

The bracelet is constructed of eight well-matched and highly-polished oval bezel-set Turquoise stones linked with heavy silver O-rings. The stones each measure approximately 18 mm x 15 mm. Precise depth measurement of the stones is impossible, however they measure approximately 7 mm in the heavy silver setting. The 6 5/8 inside diameter bracelet is closed with a wide Box latch and secured by a safety guard chain. This bracelet is stamped 925 MEXICO and an illegible four-digit hyphenated marking.

The Turquoise stone in the pendant is not a perfect match with stones in the 8-link bracelet, as is evident in the photos. However, the exquisite colors are near enough that the two pieces can be worn as a handsome matched pair. The set is pre-owned (by me) and it is in excellent condition. As expected, the silver shows shallow scratches from wear. The stones are intact and retain their polish. They are secure in the silver setting.

We hope you recognize the fair price available on the Native American and Southwestern jewelry we have listed. Some of the pieces have been in the family for many years; other pieces were taken in trade from the artists who wanted opal to innovate unique styles of jewelry. We were proud to be one of the first reliable sources of natural Australian opal. We appreciate your business and thank you for trusting Outback Oz Opal.

OUTBACK OZ OPAL

Outback Oz Opal began as a two-Geologist family unit in the middle of a street in Coober Pedy, South Australia where we bought from a gem cutter some finished Opal stones and rough Opal to cut and sell in the US. Subsequent Opal purchases of rough and finished stones were made at the Tucson, AZ Gem and Mineral Show where we developed some valuable friendships with Australian miner-cutter vendors. We learned so much about grading and cutting from them. Eventually we were able to purchase the bulk of our Opal off the kitchen table at our Flagstaff home from miner-cutter dealers who routed through on the gem show circuit (Albuquerque, Durango, Denver, etc). Ultimately one miner stored hundreds of pounds of his rough in a SeaLand container on our property to avoid the expense of returning with unsold goods to Australia.

For several years we sold Opal under the name Outback Oz Opal in Flagstaff, AZ. We sold on eBay and locally to Native American artists on the nearby Reservation. Additionally we travelled each month to a New Mexico Pueblo where we sold from the back of our pickup truck parked “under the tree”. What a dream hobby for two Geologists! But, as is always the case, life happened — a great job opportunity for the Dad in another state and Military service for the Grandson, who had grown up in the business and cut his first Opal fetish when he was in Kindergarten. We are starting again to sell our opal online. We are most appreciative for your trust and your business.
