SUMMARY:
A very  fine condition  solid silver half-hunter cased pocket watch by the famous watch-maker, Waltham of America, with a 15 jewelled high quality William Ellery movement. This is a beautifully made keyless-wound hunter pocket watch, made in ca. 1884.  The buy it now price is a clear reflection of the rarity, stunning condition and long-term investment for this watch.

THE DIAL: 96% mint, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and in bright condition with no chips and a few light hairlines. The dial with fine blue steel spade hands. Diameter is 40 mm. The inner crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely.

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with a gilded three quarter plate and a regulator, and blue steel screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with Breguet hairspring and lever escapement. The movement overall of very good quality, with a cut-away plate and gold plated wheels. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this, and keeping very good time for a 100 year old watch. The watch with movement number 2,350,xxx, marked William Ellery. The movement signed on the top plate, "A.W,W.Co., Waltham Mass.". The watch is much brighter and  crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equipment.  The watch is in very good working order for its age.

THE CASE: 100% mint, the solid silver finely engraved hunter case measures an impressive 52 mm. The front and rear covers both close nice and tightly and the hinges are all in good tight order. The case fully marked for Am. Waltham Watch Case Company, and a case number of 32174, and marked Warranted Coin silver. The top cover pops open when the pendant button is depressed, and lifted by finger pressure as the spring is missing, but in fine condition.  The watch comes with a new presentation box to store the watch when not in use.

This is a high quality case, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. The pictures show minor reflections and various dark marks, these are an artefact from the lighting and are not present in the watch case. This is a very fine period half-hunter cased watch in simply stunning condition, which is a very rare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc.
