Original pewter fairytale still bank. We do not know exactly when this bank was made. But, we are estimating the vintage to be circa 1950's-1970's. A very finely executed & superbly detailed bank with three scenic panels. Each panel shows a scene from a famous fairytale. The scenes include Little Red Riding Hood and The Wolf, Hansel and Gretel, & Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.

We have looked very closely all over the bank & cannot find any maker's marking. We do not know the specific maker of the bank but believe it to be American. The bank is 3 1/2 inches tall & has a diameter of 3 3/16 inches. The weight of the bank is 12.9 ounces. The recessed coin slot is on the top of the bank. The base has a trap which locks & unlocks with a key. But, we do not have the key.

The bank retains all of the beautiful, as made, rich original toning on the three scenes. There is no wear to the scenes. The top & the bottom of the bank have only the very slightest signs of use. The bank could be accurately described as near mint. There are four tiny pinpoint sized bumps in the metal on the top of the bank that occurred in the making. We would be delighted to hear from anyone out there in eBayland who knows the name of the company that made this bank & or the definite time frame in which this bank was made. In over 54 years of being interested in toy banks we have never seen another example of this bank. So, we suspect that this very finely detailed still bank is quite scarce.
