Original circa 1870’s cdv photo of two children. One child holds an early American painted tin toy horse on wheeled platform. A pull string dangles down from the toy. The child must have just gotten the toy as a present as the toy shows no wear & looks like it has not yet been played with. The photographer’s imprint on the back is “R. E. Weeks, 105 Massachusetts Street, Lawrence, Kansas”. It is quite unusual to find a cdv of a child holding an early American painted tin toy with a Kansas photographer’s imprint. The cdv measures 4 3/16 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide.

Condition: The matt has only very slight wear at the edges & a trifle bit of age soiling. The lighter areas of the photo show some fading from age.
