A heavy iron antique Lash's Bitters advertising ice pick & chisel tool over 110 years old....LASH'S BITTERS   / NATURAL TONIC LAXATIVE boldly emb on square handle in raised letters.....PAT.APPL'D FOR  / MADE BY THE BRIDGEPORT HDW MFG.CORP emb on the blade.....9"long....heavy steel or iron.....4 points on the "blade" or pick end......heavy rounded end for hammering on the butt of handle.  It is spring loaded, so can extend farther out, but the spring doesnt pull the end back in on its own. A wonderful antique original advertising ice chipper from the Victorian Era when people used large blocks of solid ice for their ice box. It would often have to be chipped to size for the ice block to fit, so a chipper like this would have been very desireable to have!.... ..
