This is a previously-owned, adult-medium (M), turquoise-blue hooded sweatshirt with “Obey Propaganda” across the front within the shape of a vinyl record album. It measures approximately 21½ inches (from underarm seam to underarm seam), about 27 inches from back collar to bottom, and is in fair condition, as the hood and top show some weird discoloration (Obey brand, 80% cotton / 20% polyester). Obey Clothing is a nice mix of progressive design, classic street wear, and apparel basics, all based on the design of artist and designer Shepard Fairey. Fairey’s career began when he began a tongue-in-cheek “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” street art and marketing campaign in 1989 (in Providence, Rhode Island). Distributed by the skater community, the Andre stickers began showing up in many cities across the USA (over time, the artwork has been reused in a number of ways and has become worldwide, following in the footsteps of World War II icon "Kilroy Was Here"). Fairey altered the work stylistically and semantically into the Obey Giant.
